About the Journal
Focus and Scope
As a publication of the national history honorary organization, Phi Alpha Theta, and the Department of History at Wichita State University, the accepted articles have a basic focus on history. As a general history journal the topics range chronologically from ancient history to modern history, from the history of peoples from around the world, and include cultural, political, economic, and social emphasis.
Peer Review Process
The Fairmount Folio is a board-reviewed journal. Each spring papers are submitted for acceptance and reviewed by a board consisting of faculty from the Department of History.
Publication Frequency
Fairmount Folio is published annually.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Journal History
The Fairmount Folio began publication in 1996. It is managed by a Faculty Editor/Advisor. Wichita State University faculty sit on the board which chooses the papers for publication. A student serves as editor, and a student often serves on the board.
